Create creative branding package for mission driven design studio.

Logo:
This mission driven branding design studio works with many different causes. We wanted to showcase the many causes within a unified symbol based on the Gandhi quote “Be the Change you wish to see in the world”

HumanGood is one of the largest owners and operators of senior living communities, dedicated to helping older adults be everything they want to be.

Challenge:

As one of the largest clients within SmartBug, HumanGood wanted to launch a campaign geared towards the “sandwich generation” of adult children which would be providing 7 interactive ebook downloads and supporting social media advertisements.

Solution:

Create concepts using lifestyle images of adult children with senior parents. Presented various concepts for campaign and went through a few iterations that are representing in the ebooks, and ads to tie together the campaign look and feel.

• Adobe InDesign for concept boards, interactive ebook designs.

• Facebook Creative Hub for ad mocks ups and testing to present to client.

eHemp.com is a forthcoming e-commerce platform. A “one stop shop” for all things hemp. All products are made form 100% industrial hemp.

Challenge:
Execute wireframes for new brand vision for the website and blog. eHemp wanted more of an updated look and feel to attract hemp brands to their sites. Logo update and vision were needed along with ideas to present to founder and key stakeholders.

Solution:

Logo and colors were outdated though still foundational to executives. Keeping the “e” and leaf and font, I slighted updated the logo while presenting a new color palette.

Taking hints from Patagonia, Huckleberry and more lifestyle brand sites and visions, I pulled together mood boards, photography boards to lay out vision of the brand. Next, I created wireframe mock ups for each page to present to the CEO and COO.

I created wireframes and prototypes in Adobe XD as a baseline for the developer to follow.

SoulPaws is a nonprofit organization that offers unique and evidence-based animal-assisted therapy experiences to people impacted by eating disorders and other mental health issues. With every workshop, SoulPaws aims to decrease shame, increase compassion, and inspire courage.

Challenge:

Create a logo, branding package that captured the amazing emotional connection and bond of an animal and human being. 

Solution:

Use images that emoted that special bond and sense of peace within the environment for website banners along with a silhouette for logo that paired up with a hand drawn font to feel authentic to the mission and compassion of the organization. 

Execution:

I wanted a colorpalette that had cooling, calming tones along with some happy bright pops to balance. New website banners, and social images were created to help bring her vision to life in a soulful way.  We also brought a clothing and accessory aspect to raise money for the cause during the holidays with a collection on Zazzle.

Challenge:

An accessories vendor in NYC wanted to play in the action sports world and pitch a presentation to Roxy showcasing what accessories collections they could create for them. 

Solution:

With my background in action sports, I was brought on the team to create mood boards, prints, 2D drawings, logos and color palettes for a few different collections. 

Execution:

I wanted to really showcase each collection by telling the story of who that target girl per collection would be. The vibe of each collection is shown through the first initial slide and brought all the way through each mood board presentation. The accessories for each collection carried a trim and graphic through the line that also tied back to each theme.

• Adobe InDesign for presentation PDF and slides.

HempVision is at the forefront of creating sustainable, hemp-based products from start to finish. Manufactured from hemp biomass and finished by hand craftsmanship, it’s not just where these glasses come from, it’s about where they go.

Challenge:

Use the already existing Squarespace site to help create a more functional site and design to start selling products online. The majority of products are sunglasses with many shots in studio.

Solutions:

This small brand had an incredible authentic story. I encouraged them to showcase that story and vision of leading agricultural into a new era of sustainability with hemp production. Throughout the homepage I wove in hints of that story. I set up a blog page with ideas to jumpstart the founder into engaging storytelling behind the product. To break up the studio shots, I added in balance of user generated images, outdoor images and fun messaging and descriptions.

• Adobe Photoshop for image edits, color balancing product shots.

• Adobe XD for wireframe to share ideas on execution.

• Squarespace to update theme, build out new pages and overall update site.

Collection of Animated GIFs for a variety of clients.

Challenge:

Create movement in ads. Something to engage a consumer to click.

Solution:

Depending on the project and images, created animated in layers in Photoshop and then pieced them together in timeline for overall results.

Tools used:

• Adobe Photoshop for editing images, creating timeframes and animation.

• Facebook Creative Hub to test animation and add further messaging.

During my 9 + years at Burton Snowboards I was responsible for managing the look and feel of an industry leading brand, throughout concept and execution of Women’s and Youth Outerwear softgoods categories, as well as Men’s & Women’s Winter Accessory product. My role was to ensure that product and brand Marketing strategies were brand aligned while maintaining the creative vision laid out by the Chief Creative Officer. 

During my time at Burton, I translated creative direction into engaging visual presentations and design solutions, conceptualizing videos, powerpoints and flash presentations. I also designed a variety of original and imaginative concepts for apparel, trims, artwork and softgoods product as well as preparing vendor ready art files.

I was there during an incredible time when the shift of women’s outerwear style was to recognize the need of feminine styles and lines that can be worn off and off of the mountains, as well as living and breathing a lifestyle, not just a sport.
 

With NeedsList, organizations working directly with people displaced by conflict can list their most urgent needs. 

Challenge:

Create a short video for the end of year giving that encompasses why a platform like NeedsList.co is needed and how impactful it can be. Create supporting social images that are editable for each organization.

Solution:

Video- After a few versions, the final version had a combination of real interviews I conducted via Skype, in conjunction with imagery and some motion graphics.

Storyboard- Originally we discussed having a startup vibe with animation and imagery guiding you through the process. After we reviewed the storyboard we decided to add more real stories with interviews from some charitable organizations that have used NeedsList. I set up Skype interviews with a few of these organization from around the world as they provided testimonials.

Social Media posts- These templated posts were created for NGO’s to edit and use throughout the end of year giving campaign.

Tools Used:

• Adobe Affect Effects for the motion graphics in video

• Adobe Premiere for the edits of testimonials since sound quality was difficult. Adding Affect Effects animation, graphics and testimonial interviews for full video.

• Canva for editable templates of social graphics to promote the giving campaign.

Challenge:

Create various concepts for google ads, LinkedIn and Facebook ads to be tested.

Solution:

Review client brief and overall design of campaign. Create multiple concepts with different CTA’s, messaging, images and graphics to use for testing and analytics. Based on results, build off these results or try different concepts. Use Facebook business mockup tools to create mockups for clients to see in realtime.

I like to build out client presentation boards to view the overall campaign, see all sizes and varieties of messaging and be able to choose between concepts.

Tools Used:

• Adobe Photoshop for building ad sizing artwork boards and any image edits of graphic elements.

• Adobe InDesign for concept boards.

• Facebook Creative Hub to run mockups and set up campaigns.

• Facebook Overlay tool to check if ad will be approved with text formatting.

The Holderness Family creates original music, parodies, and Vlogs for YouTube to poke fun of themselves and celebrate the absurdity in circumstances most families face in their day to day life. They published "Christmas Jammies" in December 2013 and life hasn't been the same.

Challenge:

Engaging graphics for YouTube and Facebook thumbnails for videos.

Solution:

Using fun fonts, bright colors and funny images to create graphics.

Challenge:

Create t-Shirt graphics for “Currently Adulting” parodies and videos. Posted on social media to engage audience to vote.

Solution:

Came up with 3 options on different apparel designs. Retro, one more feminine and one modern.

Tools used:

• Adobe Illustrator for vector t-Shirt Art, fonts and graphic icon design in thumbnail.

• Adobe Photoshop to cut out and edit images.

Challenge:

Update the 2016 catalog to appeal towards a younger audience. Find a unique way to shoot the product and lifestyle photography.

Solution:

Art direct the photoshoot with more of an urban feel. Bringing the shoot outdoors around a warehouse area. Model shots were photographed not directed towards the camera, to make it look as though you walked into the experience. The layout represented more of a blogger feel, shots and layout like you would see on a blog site. Since the company was a direct marketing brand, I incorporated quotes and photos of actual stylists selling the brand to make it relatable to the audience. 

Execution:

Directed lifestyle shots using inspirational photos, creating a shot list and production schedule. In studio product shots were created on boards to feel organic and give the product life showcasing the pieces at 100%. Pages were laid out to showcase the jewelry, yet still keep the look clean and stylish. 

Tools Used:

• Adobe Photoshop for images edits, recoloring, cropping and silhouetting shapes.

• Adobe Lightroom for viewing and editing photos from shoot.

• Adobe Illustrator for creating graphics.

• Adobe InDesign for creating layout and print ready files.

Emails with GIFS project

Challenge:
Make emails “dance” or move with gifs. Think outside the box of the company’s traditional jewelry product emails 

Solution:
Have the photographer take multiple shots of the product to create gifs. Create a static image for outlook users that can not view gifs. 

Execution:
Using an mp4 rendered movie for product display, I paired down the frames into a gif and used multiple photos to make the photos move to show different pairings of rings.

Valentines Day Email Campaign

Challenge:
Create an email that relates to every relationship situation for Valentines Day. An email that wasn’t about a sale or buy just a simple message wishing our customers a Happy Valentines Day.

Solution:
User generated content. We reached out to get permission on a few recent buyers that submitted photos and created a collage with messaging that was an all inclusive message. It was one of our top ranked emails that were opened.

• Dot Mailer for creating email, building in GIF blocks

As the company re-branded, I created all internal corporate and marketing collateral including office enterance and interior design, packaging, business cards and corporate documents, New advertisements and digital ads were created. Marketing collateral included discount cards, brochures, romance cards. 

Challenge:

To create a concept apparel brand with the intention to give back to organizations that are near and dear to my family. Inspired by yogis, active lifestylers, adventurers, dreamers, wanderers, comfy style lovers and our love of inspiring, empowering words.

Solution:

Kindred Spirits was born. Partner with local North Carolina based screen printers who use environmentally friendly inks. Create inspiring messages. Give back to charities that have impacted our lives and our family’s lives.

Execution:

Logo consists of triangles representing balance with a handwritten font. Using consistent fonts, triangle shapes and messages that represents chill vibes of wanderers and free spirits. Colors are muted, soft and neutral and an organic vibe with the edge of a metallic rose gold. 

After watching way too many close family and friends fight their cancer battles, I’ve always been trying to find ways to care from afar. I’ve been brainstorming ways for brands and cancer care advocates to partner together to create curated care packages to send during times of treatment for patients and caregivers.
